I’ve worked with Lance many times before, mostly on immersive experiences like the ones we took to Sundance and TriBeCa. However, our schedules prevented me from working on his new piece, an immersive theater piece called The Raven which he was making in partnership with Microsoft. When it came time to film the piece, I jumped on board. Who better to explain his crazy idea than his previous technical director?
The piece itself is a typical Lance mind-bender—an immersive play that uses location tracking technology to give participants a customized experience. How he managed to thread the needle on that story-telling adventure, I have no idea. Lance is always thinking a few moves ahead. It’s always cool to be able to check back in and see what he’s thinking.
